Combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Residency Program
Welcome to the web-site of the Med/Peds Residency at Penn State College of Medicine and Penn State Children's Hospital. Since its inception in 1988, our program has been well-balanced and devoted to training physicians interested in primary care, academic medicine or specialty training. The residents are trained to the highest standards in pediatrics and internal medicine, so that they will be comfortable in both the office and the hospital setting.
Knowing that some residents will pursue diverse career paths, the goal of the curriculum is to provide one that is rich in opportunity and experience. Our university, community and VA hospital rotations complement our combined Med/Peds continuity clinic in inner city Harrisburg. We have multiple learning opportunities from our pediatric and internal medicine grand rounds, case conferences and Thursday educational blocks, to our weekly Med/Peds resident-driven outpatient lectures. Teaching is important and is fostered from senior to junior residents. Our residents become excellent teachers.
We seek candidates with a strong academic record, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a sincere desire to work with and for adults and children.
