Neonatal Oxygen Delivery System

Dr. Charles Palmer, Professor of Pediatrics, and Dr. Bosseau Murray Professor of Anesthesia, are leading a team of clinicians in the development of an advanced system for controlling the delivery of oxygen to premature infants. An industrial partner is helping the team develop the system, which will facilitate neonatal nursing. They feel that automating the delivery of oxygen in response to the patient’s needs may also reduce the severity of retinopathy of prematurity and chronic lung disease.
