Colon Cancer Prevention 5K Run and Fun Walk
In Honor of William F. Foran
Another successful year!
The 7th Annual Colon Cancer Prevention 5K Run and Funk Walk was held at City Island, Harrisburg, PA, on Saturday, June 1, 2013. Thank you to all who participated!
This annual race is held to raise funds for colorectal cancer prevention, testing, and counseling at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. Over $50,000 has been raised over the past five years for the colon cancer genetics program.
Thank you for participating in the 7th Annual Colon Cancer Prevention 5K. We had a great turnout despite tough weather conditions. This year's overall winners were Matt Gillette in 16:02. Mary Dell captured top honors for the women in 17:42.
Thank you also to our major sponsors: The Edward and Jeanne Arnold Charitable Trust Foundation, Foot Locker, and The Hotel Hershey. Race photos will be available shortly.
Proceeds from this event benefit the Penn State Colon Cancer Genetics Program (under the direction of Maria H. Baker, Ph.D.) and will also be used to purchase a resource book for newly diagnosed colorectal cancer patients. We again thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you next year!
