The Central Pennsylvania Oncology Group (CPOG) is an association of about 200 medical professionals at community hospitals and a single university center serving cancer patients in a 34-county central region of Pennsylvania. Members and associate members include practicing oncologists, hematologists, radiation therapists, pathologists, oncology nurses, hospital chaplains and social workers. According to the American Cancer Society statistics, approximately 23,000 of these people will be newly diagnosed as having cancer in 2005.
