Publications

CPOG offers a number of FREE publications to the public. These publications are for both patients and caregivers.

 

 

Good Nutrition: Guidebook for the Cancer Patient - This 33 page booklet was written by the project manager for CPOG's Nutrition and Cancer professional educational programs. It was first published in 1982 and has since been reprinted several times. The booklet is a guide for patients with cancer who need help getting the proper nutrition--- it is distributed to both professionals and patients.

 

 

 

 

Communication and Cancer: Knowing What to Say When You Don’t Know What to Say - This is a 35 page workbook This workbook is designed for professionals and deals with the many issues cancer patients face in communicating across the spectrum--- with loved ones, family members, nurses, physicians, clergy and others. It details methods which can be used as tools to solve the communications issues and to counsel those involved to help resolve these problems. Booklets are distributed to workshop attendees, as well as to CPOG members and other interested professionals.

 

 

 

 

 

Making Ethical Choices in Cancer Care: A Decision-Making Process - This 75 page handbook is designed for medical professionals and was written by Dr. Simms, utilizing materials gathered from his Medical Ethics Workshops. It includes the ethics protocol and shows how to use the protocol in everyday ethical situations. This handbook is currently being distributed to medical professionals and allied health care workers throughout Pennsylvania.
