Penn State Hershey Emergency Medicine has developed a rapidly growing research mission with the improvement of patient care and the betterment of the specialty of Emergency Medicine in mind. Several areas of focus include:

Our mission is focused to promote and facilitate high quality research in the area of urgent and emergent conditions in order to improve health outcomes for patients. Our mission strives to develop a framework for Emergency Medicine faculty, staff, residents, and students to exchange ideas and develop novel approaches to clinical problems through high quality Emergency Medicine research.

Our Emergency Department has experience running clinical trials and Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center supports a federally-funded Clinical Research Center. The research mission has active research collaborations:

We collaborate with prehospital providers in Penn State Hershey Emergency Medicine LifeLion and other Emergency Medical Services (EMS) agencies in the south central Pennsylvania region.
