Grand Rounds

Clinical Endocrinology Conference is held every Wednesday from  1:00 - 3:00 pm.

A variety of diseases of endocrinology and metabolism are discussed in greater depth than at the bedside or the ambulatory care setting. Correlation with endocrine biochemistry, physiology and pathophysiology is expected. There is a formal, didactic presentation by an invited speaker from 1:00-2:00 p.m. (there are no formal presentations during the months of July and August).

Topics discussed may be prompted by patient cases that are encountered during clinical interactions. Pertinent aspects of these patient cases will be presented as appropriate, with adherence to patient confidentiality.

Case discussions are held from 2:00-3:00 p.m.  The first Wednesday of the month is reserved for Thyroid Unit, a discussion of patients scheduled for thyroid cancer treatment in the upcoming month.  The second Wednesday of the month is reserved for the Inherited Endocrinopathies meeting.  Both of these discussions are multi-disciplinary with colleagues from surgery, radiology, and pathology.
