Mr. Brenckle is vice chair of the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Board of Directors. He also chairs the audit and compliance committee, and is a member of the finance committee.
Mr. Brenckle is a graduate of Duquesne University and the Stonier School of Banking at Rutgers University. He enjoyed a 40-year career with PNC Bank, where he rose through the ranks from a management trainee hired in 1970 to his retirement in 2011 as president of the bank's Central PA region, a role he held for 13 years.
Mr. Brenckle is well known for his community leadership. At Penn State Hershey, he chaired the recent, highly successful "For The Future" philanthropic campaign that raised nearly $307 million to support the health system's patient care, education, research and community outreach missions.
He was a founding board member of the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts in Harrisburg as well as founding member and chair for 13 years of the PA Partnership for Culture, Health and Education, also known as Très Bonne Année, which has raised more than $4 million for the Whitaker Center.
He serves as a board member and a member of the executive committee of the Harrisburg Area YMCA, and also served on the boards and executive committees of the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra, Harrisburg Regional Chamber and Capital Regional Economic Development Corporation.
He and his wife, Patricia, are parents to two adult children, Lara and Philip.
