Healing, teaching, discovering…that’s what we do every day at Penn State Hershey Heart and Vascular Institute. A national model for comprehensive cardiovascular care, the Institute and its skilled clinicians are routinely ranked among America’s best. Our faculty is also teaching the latest techniques to the next generation of care givers, while our researchers are discovering new knowledge that will lead to the next generation of treatments and, one day, cures for heart disease.

New Heart and Vascular ICU Opens.  A new intensive care unit designed exclusively for heart and vascular patients opened on July 6. The new ICU is a 15-bed, state-of-the-art unit staffed by specialized clinicians who will provide critical care to cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, cardiology, and mechanical circulatory support (heart pump) patients. A grand opening is being planned for mid September when a new heart and vascular intermediate care unit opens adjacent to the new ICU.

Experts Available for Educational Talks.  Presentations on a wide range of cardiovascular topics are now available through our new outreach initiative.  Whether it's a formal program awarding continuing education credit, or a more casual presentation to primary care physicians or community groups, our goal is to provide current information that is appropriate in any setting.
