Pediatric Palliative and Hospice Care Task Force

Throughout 2008, Members of the Hummingbird Program participated in a Pediatric Palliative and Hospice Care Task Force through the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare.  Task force members examined Pennsylvania's current healthcare and human services delivery system and made recommendations for improving the organization, financing, and delivery of comprehensive palliative and hospice care services to children with life-limiting illnesses and their families. The final report was released in November 2008.

Pennsylvania Children's Hospice and Palliative Care Coalition

The Pennsylvania Children's Hospice and Palliative Care Coalition (PA-CHaPCC) was organized following meetings of the Department of Public Welfare's Pediatric Palliative and Hospice Care Task Force.  The goal of PA-CHaPCC members is to further the implementation of the task force report and to exist as a permanent organization committed to caring for children with life-limiting and life-threatening diagnoses in Pennsylvania.
