Through your support, funds raised during the Chocolate Tour are being applied to support exciting translational research projects at Penn State. THANK YOU !!!
Project 1 (Funded 2012):
"Development and evaluation of an in vitro flow system containing a volume of 3 mL or less that will represent a human vessel and provide a measurable output of cancer metastasis in the vascular system". The goal of this project is to develop an in vitro microphysiological system representing the vascular system in the human body, which will be used to assess the efficacy and toxicity of pharmaceutical and nanoparticles based agents for inhibiting cancer metastasis prior to entry into clinical trials.
Project 2: (Funded 2012)
"Characterization of tyrosinase-specific CTLs derived from pluripotent stem cell". The goal is to develop a novel approach that generates a large numbers of immune cells, to elicit an immune response that enhances immunotherapy for the treatment of human cancers. The goal of the study is to focus on preclinical development of nanoparticles targeting major signaling cascades in human melanoma.deve
Project 3: (Funded 2013)
"Nanoparticle based combination therapy for melanoma" The goal of the study is to focus on preclinical development of nanoparticles targeting major signaling cascades in human melanoma.
