Knowledge Goals
- Understand the approach to and critical components of OB/GYN history taking
- Understand the physiologic changes of pregnancy, and its relationships with other medical disorders
- Understand the principles of antepartum care
- Understand the principles of intrapartum management
- Understand the physiologic ovulatory cycle, and how it is evaluated and therapeutically manipulated
- Understand common gynecologic disorders
- Understand pelvic anatomy as illustrated in the O.R.
Technical Goals
- Perform an OB/GYN history and physical
- Perform a complete pelvic exam observed by faculty
- Deliver a baby
- Observe / participate in pelvic surgery
- Perform phlebotomies, IV insertions, catheter insertions, pelvic exams, wet preps
