There are three Robotic Systems utilized by Gynecology, Urology and Cardio-Thoracic Surgery. The medical campus also includes the Hershey Outpatient Surgical Center (HOSC). Recently, the hospital opened the Penn State Medical Simulation Center. The Center combines the services of Anesthesia, Surgery and Nursing into a single state of the art simulation center with extensive surgical virtual reality simulators.

The Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Fellowship is a two year surgical fellowship structured to ensure adequate time in all aspects of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, advanced laparoscopic surgery, and female pelvic surgery. Our program has extensive outpatient experience including surgical center practice and procedures as well as office hysteroscopy and cystometrics.  There is also scheduled protected research time.  Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery and fellowship services have OR block time 4 days per week-- Monday through Thursday in the main hospital OR.

The Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Service is a high volume, consultative service with a surgical focus on laparoscopic hysterectomy, laparoscopic myomectomy and endometriosis surgery.  We have specializations in daVinci Robotic Surgery.  Our Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Service covers a full range of consultative services including in-office complex cystometrics, as well as high volume and complex surgical procedures. We participate in teaching OB/Gyn residents as well as Urology residents learning female urologic and incontinence procedures. Our Service performs a large number of mesh-based procedures, traditional gynecologic pelvic support surgeries, vaginal hysterectomy and advanced laparoscopy.

Included on our staff is Dr. Stephanie Estes, a reproductive endocrinologist and Director of Robotic Surgery.  She utilizes the daVinci surgical platform for her advanced laparoscopic procedures, including laparoscopic myomectomy, tubal anastomosis and hysterectomy.  Dr. Estes also performs office hysteroscopy and sono hysterography.
