Penn State Hershey Hematology/Oncology at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital provides comprehensive care to infants, children, adolescents and young adults with a variety of healthcare needs.
Our Pediatric Hematology Service cares for children with all types of blood disorders. We have subspecialty clinics which focus on the care of children through our Sickle Cell Anemia Program, Hemophilia Program, and Bleeding and Thrombus Program.The Hematology Consult Clinic is designed specifically to deal with any difficult diagnostic or therapeutic problem.
Our Oncology Service provides state-of-the-art care for children with every type of cancer including hematologic malignancies, brain tumors, and all solid tumors. We utilize the most up-to-date therapies through membership in the national Children's Oncology Group (COG). The Pediatric Stem Cell Transplant program offers the most recent comprehensive transplant services.
Care is provided using a multidisciplinary team approach with patient and family being at the center of the healthcare team. This special team extends beyond the hematology/oncology staff to include the expertise of many other pediatric specialists at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital. A cohesive network forms to meet the complex needs of children and families affected by cancer or hematologic disorders.
