Computer Tutorial Station
The computer tutorial station is a computer dedicated to flat-screen simulations, training programs and self-guided tutorials. Some of the programs are commercially available, such as ACLS and ICU simulations, the pharmacodynamic modelling program IVA-Sim, and an EKG Tutorial by Study-Med Software. The station also has links to internet sites, such as the Virtual Anesthesia Machine. There are programs that were written by lab faculty, including a multimedia bronchoscopy tutorial and a companion EKG tutorial to the ACLS recertification program.
The station also has multimedia creation and presentation capabilities. Video can be shown using a number of formats including VCR, DVD, and computer generated images and files. They can be viewed using the computer screen or a projector attached to the computer, to accommodate larger groups. Audio and video editing can also be done.
It is available around the clock for students, residents, and faculty.
