Adults who are able to share their time and talent to make a difference in their community are invited to join the volunteer program of Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Anyone over 18 may apply by submitting the proper application. You may do so either on-line (preferable) or call 717-531-8278 and request an application be mailed to you.
- The primary mission of the volunteer program of Penn State Hershey Medical Center is to respond to the needs of the community through various hospital programs and services.
- Volunteers serve as a link between staff and patients, their families and visitors. They are the "extra" in the extraordinary care we provide. To learn more about the areas where volunteers are needed see the Opportunities link.
- To be compliant with a recommendation from the Joint Commission of Healthcare Organizations and the Center for Disease Control, all volunteers (as well as employees) will be tested for tuberculosis. This can be done through our employee health department at no expense to you, during your orientation or your own physician at your expense. More details will be given at orientation.
- Please note that we are unable to accommodate court ordered Community Service.
